What do you think is wrong (or right) about Scotland's democracy?

Over the past six months, ERS Scotland has been asking these questions and more as part of our Democracy Max inquiry: 'What would the good Scottish democracy look like?' 

Now it's your turn. What do you think makes a good Scottish democracy? On December 4th, we will present the ideas and suggestions so far, and listen to what you think about the issues raised. 

So far, we've asked the people of Scotland for their ideas at a day long deliberative discussion: The People's Gathering. Then, the first chapter of the findings of the People's Gathering were discussed by a roundtable of academics, commentators, campaigners and community activists, and now we want to hear your thoughts and ideas. 

This first phase of our inquiry is themed around 'Sovereignty of the People: How do we return more power to the people?'

It includes consideration of turnout at elections, accountability of politicians, the declining membership of polituical parties and the opportunity of local democracy, amongst other things.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public transport: Old College is a 15 minute walk from Waverley train station. Lothian buses number 3, 31, 37, 29, 8, 5, and 49 stop on the block before and after Old College (outside Forbidden Planet on South Bridge and Lidl on Nicolson Street)

Pay and display parking is available on Chambers Street at 50p per 15 minutes, but is free after 6.30pm

There are cycle racks in the grounds of Old College
